Firenze Number Nine Fitness Spa Hotel is just a 2-minute walk from the Florence’s Cathedral, the Duomo, and is magically tucked away from the large crowds on a gently curved cobblestoned lane. Santa Maria Novella railway station is also a short walk away, 7 minutes to be exact.
The hotel has over 40 rooms and each room is unique but all spacious. All rooms have light-colored wooden floors, and some are with original ceiling frescoes. The Junior Suit we stayed is just stunning, a very clean and large suite room with a large mirrored closet. The bathroom is very modern and roomy, with separate toilet and bidet. One of the best feature of the hotel is its full sized state-of–art fitness center, KLab. Being a regular gym-goer like myself, I appreciated very much its facilities and class choices including Yoga and sculpting. Known for its Ayurveda rituals, massages and personalized treatment, the Beauty & Wellness Spa is a must go. Hubby and I had a couple’s massage after a whole day exploring Florence on our feet, felt so relaxed and pampered after the 50-minutes session. Book early, it is very busy!
Hotel’s buffet breakfast offers excellent choices, including local and seasonal produces, organic ingredients, and provides various alternative options for guests with diet consciousness. To cater to the Asian customers, Hotel even has Asian styled noodle and miso soup daily that is not common in Italy. For someone like me who has a stubborn stomach, this is the music in my ears. The hotel's cocktail bar-restaurant is decorated in a smart urban style where you can enjoy aperitifs, light lunches and casual simple Italian classics.
On top of everything the hotel has to offer, you best experiences will be with its staffs. Everyone is extremely helpful, kind and accommodating. They will go out of their way to treat every guest with the greatest respect and as VIPs, and to make us all feel at-home. Mr. Paul Feakes, the hotel’s General Manager, has trained-eyes for attention to details, and believes deeply in personalization for every guest’s stay. He has managed this beautiful property at the highest level. Paul’s great knowledge about Florence is richer than locals. We took his recommendations for a couple of dinners, and there was no disappointment there for sure. I had the opportunity to chat with Paul after checked in, and we soon found our common passion, fashion. It turns out that Paul was the Director at the Gucci Garden Florence before he became the GM here.
